CBR-1000 / 2000 SERIES™ RETROFIT BURNER PACKAGES For Cleaver-Brooks® Boilers
We wish to announce the release of our second-generation series of retrofit burner packages designed exclusively for use on Cleaver Brooks® fire tube and water tube boilers. The product line includes both gas and liquid fuel burner retrofit systems and are truly "Bolt On" packages; no welding or extensive modifications to the existing burner, fuel firing system or boiler is required.
CBR-1000 SERIES™ RETROFIT BURNER The liquid fuel atomizing gun assembly is designed to slip into the existing burner jacket tube and includes: new atomizing gun assembly with atomizing air and liquid fuel pressure gauges; liquid filled type, spacers, properly sized atomizing air and fuel connections with quick disconnects; double shut off type on liquid fuel and a plate to engage the existing oil drawer interlock switch. The liquid fuel atomizing gun assembly insertion length is similar to the existing Cleaver Brooks® units. An atomizing air control manifold assembly; completely assembled, with atomizing air flow control valve, manual shut off and by pass valves, atomizing air pressure gauge; liquid filled type with gauge cock, low atomizing air pressure safety switch, sensing line manual shut off valve, atomizing air filter, interconnecting piping and all required adapter fittings are included. An atomizing air shut off solenoid valve, liquid fuel pressure sensing line adapter and fittings, for installation near the burner, are part of the package. A new atomizing air compressor or plant air capable of providing 80 100 PSI air must be provided due to the low output pressure available from the existing Cleaver Brooks® atomizing air compressor. The atomizing fuel nozzle does not have to be changed or replaced when fuel oil grade changes are made. Heavy residual fuel oil preheat can be lowered 25° 30°F+. Heavy residual fuel oil light off problems are virtually eliminated. The CBR-1000 liquid fuel packages are capable of utilizing other liquids as fuel including: waste oil, alcohols, solvents, waste chemicals, gasoline, Naphtha,, wood and coal tars, coal in oil / water slurry, Lanolin, etc. Please consult the factory regarding your particular application.
CBR-2000 SERIES™ RETROFIT BURNER The new gas burner head is designed to directly replace existing Cleaver-Brooks® units. The new gas head incorporates many innovative features including field replaceable gas orifices for tailoring the burner to the application. Due to the new gas head's unique design features, proper mixing of the gaseous fuel with combustion air is always achieved, even at very low firing rates and without overheating or damaging the front portion of the burner unit and/or refractory. Heavy gage steel construction and the use of alloy steels in critical areas insure durability and resistance to high temperature deformation. The new gas head is seal welded, stress relieved and tested after fabrication to insure structural integrity and prevent any leakage of the gaseous fuel. A new gas flow control valve is provided and is designed for installation in the same location as the existing Cleaver Brooks® unit. The new gas flow control valve is fully field adjustable and allows precise profiling of the gaseous fuel flow with the combustion air flow, produced by the burner, at any firing rate position. New control linkage, adapters, pressure gauges with gauge cocks and all necessary hardware are included with the package. The CBR-2000 gaseous fuel packages are capable of utilizing other gases as fuel including: low BTU gas, hydrogen, C0, etc. Please consult the factory regarding your particular application. Detailed instruction manuals, flow charts, for liquid and gaseous fuels and detailed drawings are included with all retrofit burner packages.

CBR-1000
SERIES™ RETROFIT FOR
CLEAVER-BROOKS® BOILERS
The
CBR-1000 SERIES™ RETROFIT burner package is designed exclusively for use on
CLEAVER-BROOKS® fire tube and water tube boilers. The CBR-1000 SERIES™ RETROFIT
burner package is a true “BOLT-ON” installation in that no modifications to
the existing burner assembly or fuel oil control system are necessary; minor
piping modifications to the existing atomizing air piping system is required.
All materials utilized are high quality and all items necessary for installation
are included. The CBR-1000
SERIES™ RETROFIT burner package incorporates SUN’S patented liquid atomizing
nozzle which can utilize Compressed Air, Steam or other compressible gases for
atomizing liquid fuels including all grades of Fuel Oils, Waste Oils, Chemicals,
Tars, Coal-in-Oil or Coal-in-Water Slurries and other non-commercial fuels. Due
to the fine degree of atomization produced by the atomizing nozzle, light-off
problems are virtually eliminated even when utilizing Heavy Fuel Oils, Tars,
Still and Tank Bottoms, etc. In addition, SUN’S atomizing nozzle allows the
user to adjust and control the desired degree of atomization for any liquid fuel
without changing the nozzle. All packages utilize the existing Cleaver-Brooks
nozzle purge system (Heavy Fuel Oils) if installed. The CBR-1000
SERIES™ RETROFIT burner package’s liquid fuel gun assembly is designed to
slip into the existing burner jacket tube and includes: nozzle assembly,
spacers, stainless steel cased liquid filled pressure gauges, stainless steel
quick disconnects on liquid fuel and atomizing medium connections, stainless
steel flexible hoses and a new oil drawer locking plate to engage the existing
oil drawer interlock switch. The liquid fuel gun assembly lengths and sizes are
similar to existing Cleaver-Brooks® oil gun units. The CBR-1000
SERIES™ RETROFIT burner package is supplied with an atomizing medium flow
control system. The system includes: atomizing medium flow control valve, low
atomizing medium pressure interlock switch, filter unit, stainless steel cased
